What MachEngine Core is

Fail‑safe design

Speed layers that refuse to break your site

A "fast" plugin is useless if it can take a site down. MachEngine uses a strict policy: only serve a fast path when conditions are guaranteed safe. Otherwise it falls back immediately.

Policy
Near‑static cache (Mach Warp)
Buffers HTML snapshots for public traffic and serves a fast‑pass when safe.
mismatch → fallback
Drop‑in
Advanced Cache drop‑in
Accelerates before the plugin stack loads when WP_CACHE is enabled.
unsafe → skip
Caching
QuantumCache tiers
Stores computed data and metrics to reduce repeated DB/PHP work.
expired → recompute
Stability
Zero‑bug fail‑safe
If a layer can't prove correctness, it refuses to serve and lets WP run normally.
cannot prove → fallback
What's inside

MachEngine Core modules

A single core plugin with modular layers. Enable what you need. Leave the rest off.

Layer
Mach Warp
Near‑static caching for public traffic
Buffers HTML output and serves a fast path for eligible requests. Purge & invalidation keep it correct.
Drop‑in
Advanced Cache
Faster before plugins even load
Uses WordPress' `advanced-cache.php` drop‑in (WP_CACHE) to reduce TTFB and skip PHP/DB when safe.
Optional
ShadowDB
Acceleration layer for heavy reads
A configurable read layer to reduce repeated work. If it can't be trusted, it stays out of the request path.
Architecture

Built like a core, not a "random plugin"

MachEngine Core is structured for scale: a modular loader, a quantum cache engine, and a custom hooks registry — all designed to stay lightweight and fail‑safe.

🚀 Quantum Performance

Multi‑tier caching that stays disciplined

Quantum Cache System with memory, database, and compression tiers — plus centralised database connection management tuned for predictable performance.

Multi-level cache DB discipline Low overhead
🔧 Modular System

Dynamic module loader with dependency resolution

Load/unload modules on demand with automatic dependency ordering (topological sorting). Configure modules via JSON schemas and toggle features without code edits.

module.json Dependency graph Hot‑swappable
🎣 Custom Hooks Registry

Enhanced hooks with metrics built in

A custom actions/filters registry with performance tracking, optional persistence, and seamless WordPress hook integration — so you can instrument what matters.

Actions & Filters Metrics WP-native friendly
🏗️ Advanced Architecture

Modern PHP organisation for stability

Object‑oriented design, strict typing, `MachEngine\\Core` namespace, singleton resource management, and PSR‑4 autoloading — built to behave under pressure.

Overview

What MachEngine Core is

A core plugin for WordPress that merges modular architecture, multi‑layer speed, and admin tooling — built with a strict fail‑safe policy.

Speed

Mach Warp: "near‑static" cache — still WordPress

Buffers HTML output (and only what's safe). Serves a fast‑pass for eligible public requests (GET/HEAD), with purge & invalidation so it never "lies" to users.

Fast‑pass routing Purge & invalidation
Early boot

Advanced Cache drop‑in (WP_CACHE)

Enables a fast path before the plugin stack loads by using `wp-content/advanced-cache.php`. Great for public pages that can be served from a safe snapshot.

Lower TTFB Skip work when safe
Core cache

QuantumCache: multi‑tier caching

A cache core for repeated calculations, stats, and internal data — reduces DB hits and repeated PHP work. Feeds real metrics into the dashboard.

Multi‑tier strategy Real metrics
Optional layers

ShadowDB + OPcache preload support

Optional acceleration tools for high‑traffic environments: read‑layer optimisations (ShadowDB) and PHP OPcache preload support to keep latency stable under load.

How it works

A clean flow from install to speed

Enable a layer, validate eligibility, serve fast‑pass traffic, and keep a safe fallback ready at all times.

Step 1

Install MachEngine Core

Upload the plugin, activate it, and choose which modules you want enabled.

Step 2

Enable Mach Warp

Turn on near‑static buffering for eligible public requests. Unsafe requests always fall back.

Step 3

Optional: Advanced Cache drop‑in

Enable WP_CACHE to accelerate before plugin load on high‑traffic public pages.

Step 4

Monitor + purge safely

See cache hit rates, purge when content changes, and keep correctness as the top priority.

FAQ

Common questions

Clear answers for caching, correctness, and safe fallbacks.

Correctness

Will caching break logged‑in users or dynamic pages?

MachEngine only serves a fast path for requests that match safe rules (public, eligible, non‑personalised). Anything uncertain falls back immediately to normal WordPress rendering.

Stability

What happens if a layer can't run?

Fail‑safe is the default. If a cache file is missing, corrupted, permissions are wrong, or rules don't match, MachEngine refuses the fast path and lets WordPress handle the request normally.
